Meet Jacques Agbobly, the Togo-born, Chicago-raised visionary shaping the fashion narrative. A recent Parsons School of Design graduate and 2019 CFDA Scholarship recipient, Agbobly's journey from Togo to the epicenter of fashion is a tale of resilience and self-discovery.

Surrounded by the hum of tailors and seamstresses in Togo during his formative years, Agbobly cultivated a love for fashion. His family's move to the U.S. in 2007 fueled his designer dreams. Parsons became his transformative crucible, teaching him design nuances and the vital art of self-care.

The CFDA Scholarship was his turning point, liberating Agbobly from the grind of multiple jobs and enabling a singular focus on design. Black Boy Knits emerged from the pandemic's challenges, transcending knitwear to embody Black, queer, and immigrant narratives.

Agbobly's aspirations stretch beyond personal triumphs, envisioning a future where he uplifts Black creatives and fosters industry community. Amidst managing Black Boy Knits and crafting a full collection, he seeks mentorship and residencies for continuous growth.
